This course is designed for paddlers with a hunger for challenge! We will focus on prevention of a predicament on the water, and the techniques to recover should one occur. If you are interested in perfecting your skills, learning crucial safety techniques, and taking on the challenges of sea kayak travel without a guide, then this course is for you! This is a two part course. The first session is in the pool and the second is in the ocean. Course Content: Wet exits, re-entries (deep and shallow), self and assisted rescue protocols, water conditions and safety, Eskimo rolls and various assisted rescues. ***This course is based on flex-learning, which means not all skills listed are covered in all classes. Depending on group progression and focus, the instructor and students will decide as a group how much material will be covered in each session.
