Orca Adventure:

Our Orca Adventure is an excellent way to experience an abundance of West Coast marine wildlife in a relatively short amount of time.



The journey starts in Telegraph Cove, a beautiful old fishing village established in 1911 that served as the terminus of the telegraph line to northern Vancouver Island.

Soon after our launch at Telegraph Cove you will likely witness the true attraction to this area, the Northern Orca pod. Whale pods congregate in Johnstone Strait in the summer. They come from up and down the Pacific Coast to rub themselves on the beaches of Robson Bight, and feed on the salmon of the Inside Passage. It is not only the Orcas that display a great deal of activity throughout the Strait. Seals, river otters, eagles, black bears, white sided pacific dolphins, minke and humpback whales are also very active in this area.

First Day: We meet at 8 am to pack the kayaks, go over paddling techniques, group travel guidelines and our route. At 10 am we launch and head to a beautiful beach for a satisfying lunch. Following our meal, we paddle to our base camp. While you leisurely set up your tent, relax, and take in the breathtaking scenery, we prepare a traditional West Coast dinner.     Second Day: The next morning we'll wake you with the delicious scent and taste of freshly brewed organic coffee, and an energizing, healthy breakfast. After breakfast, we'll get back on the water and paddle to Robson Bight where the possibility of black bear, bald eagle, dolphin, minke whale, and other wildlife sightings are virtually endless. We'll stop for lunch on the beach beside the Bight and hike to a picturesque waterfall. In the evening, back at our comfortable base camp, you'll dine on more fabulous West Coast cuisine, and we'll share stories by the campfire. Third Day: You'll enjoy another delicious breakfast before packing up camp and paddling back to Telegraph Cove, arriving around noon. This is the end to a truly unforgettable adventure!
